SHELTIE WINTER is the last in my series SHELTIE SEASONS. This is an 11 x 14 watercolor, and may be my favourite painting of all the many hundreds that I have done. As usual, I chose to take on the challenge of using just watercolor for this one - no gouache, no acrylic, just Titanium White, sometimes right out of the tube. The Bi-Blue Shetlie's coat was intricate and needed a subtle touch to get it right, but I feel the effort was worth it.
I love the atmosphere that can be achieved with watercolor. For me, this painting is about peace and being one with nature. As with the others in this series, art cards are available from me, and soon prints of all 4 paintings will be available though Zazzle.
