Watercolor Golden Retriever Pup by Catherine Temple

I have just fallen in love with this Golden Retriever puppy! I photographed him awhile back and he's been the inspiration for at least three paintings. This painting, titled "In His Arms", is the most recent I've done of him (his name is Copper) and the one I love the best! It captures his calm, but intent gaze as he's held protected by loving arms.

The painting was done in watercolor and gouache and is currently on display at the Valley Art Center in Clarkston, Wa. Their show "Going to the Dogs" opens this Friday, April 2nd and runs through May 1st. It features local artists all painting our wonderful canine friends. I've been told the treats being served for the event are dog bone shaped cookies! If you're in the area stop by and enjoy some great art and try out those cookies!!

Thanks for looking!

Thanks Molly! This one was a lot of fun to do and turned out just as I had hoped.
